Our Impact

In 2022, 9,416 international nameplate dealership franchises created 549,000 direct American jobs with a payroll of $50 billion, as well as over 580,000 additional indirect jobs. Together, they provided more than half of all U.S. dealership jobs and sold 7.5 million vehicles, resulting in a 56 percent share of the U.S. market.

International nameplate automobile dealers have a powerful, positive impact coast-to-coast on their neighborhoods, cities, and states. Dealerships are more than a place to shop for and buy a new vehicle; they are employers, sources of charitable giving, tax bases, and service centers. They are the heart of the international nameplate auto industry, and they are committed to serving their communities.
