On May 11, 2015, the American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) honored Newport Beach, California, auto dealer Dave Conant with its Legislative Action Network (L.A.N.) Grassroots Advocacy Award at the association’s 9th Annual International Auto Industry Summit in Washington, D.C. The award recognizes his efforts in engaging elected officials and other policy makers on the issues important to the international nameplate auto dealer community.
Conant is the chief executive officer of Conant Auto Retail Group (The CAR Group), which currently operates 11 automobile franchises in Cerritos, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Mission Viejo, San Diego, and South West Covina, California, and two franchises in Port Charlotte, Florida. Together, they represent the Acura, Buick, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Lincoln, Toyota, Scion, and Volkswagen brands. He holds more than 35 years of experience in managing auto dealerships.
Conant is deeply involved in the auto retail industry and has served on AIADA’s board of directors for many years, including its executive committee. He regularly meets with his members of Congress, both in their home districts as well as in Washington, D.C. He has also demonstrated exceptional commitment to all of AIADA’s grassroots programs, including hosting his members of Congress at his dealerships through AIADA’s Dealer Visit Program.
