In 2018, international nameplate dealers find themselves at the intersection of U.S. global trade policy and the millions of American consumers they are tasked with serving every day. Occupying a majority share of the U.S. auto market, AIADA’s 9,600 international nameplate dealers sell some of the most popular vehicles on the road to millions of American consumers each year. In the process, they employ more than half a million Americans and generate $32 billion in annual payroll.

With this impressive economic footprint in mind, AIADA members gathered in Las Vegas for the 48th Annual Meeting and Luncheon on Sunday, March 25, 2018, to look back on the political and legislative issues that shaped the industry in 2017. During the luncheon, dealers also looked forward to the rest of 2018 and the protectionist, anti-trade rhetoric that is threatens the foundation of America’s international nameplate auto industry. The event followed a special industry reception held Friday evening during NADA’s convention.
